I played MLB the Show 21 ( PS4 ) and noticed that hitting ball was different. They changed batting interface to something like Don Bradman Cricket 17 . We can see power bar, timing marker and indicator how much we need to push the stick forward for maximum power.

I don’t like the new changes. First of all, I’m not able to use timing indicator because my TV is too big ( 60 inches ). On 40 – 50 inch TV it will probably work good but on bigger TV everything looks so small before the ball is coming to us. And I don’t see how the indicators works because my TV is too far from me and it’s dark inside.

Because in my opinion it is much easier to push stick forward when you see how long you have to hold your stick in this position before contact. The difference between mlb the show 16 and 21 is that in 21 they changed colors of power bar.

It is much easier to play new game modes in this version. The only thing we need to do is to push the stick forward for maximum power and adjust timing indicator, which is probably connected with height of pitch ( low or high ) and speed. This is good because now there are no different pitches like in mlb the show 16 where you can adjust power with left analog stick.

Tips for playing baseball in MLB The Show 21
The best way to play this game is to find a spot in your house where you can see TV well and have enough space for swinging. This will help you a lot with hitting the ball in mlb the show 21.
Also it would be nice if they indicated distance from the plate, or something that could indicate how high or low ball is.
I’m not sure but I think developers tried to copy cricket interface for this version and it’s not so good idea .
Conclusion
In my opinion, I wouldn’t recommend this version for playing baseball because batting interface is much harder to use. If you don’t have any problems with it, then go ahead and play the game. It’s a fantastic version with so many new features. Once again don’t forget about disabling colorblind mode when you choose a team in exhibition mode. This will save you a lot of time in the future when you choose a team and don’t know which one to pick.
